About Us

In January 2018, Frontier Associates became Frontier Energy. Frontier Energy is a new for-profit company with a long history. The Texas office works with Frontier Energy’s other divisions to leverage strengths, relationships, and data to help reduce energy use, increase alternative transportation, and bring new ideas to life. We are fuel agnostic and work on projects involving electricity, hydrogen, biogas, and conventional fuels. We believe in a diverse energy future that includes efficiency, conservation, and new technologies. Frontier Associates, LLC was established in 1999 as a spin-off from Planergy Inc., then one of the largest energy services firms in the US. In 2001, Frontier was the first company to offer comprehensive program management and tracking databases with complete Internet access for utility efficiency program participants and administrators. For the past 17 years, Frontier has provided consulting assistance, implementation services, and engineering support to energy consumers, electric and gas utilities, water utilities, and government agencies on topics related to economics and pricing, utility cost allocation and rate design, forecasting, resource planning, energy efficiency and renewable energy program design and evaluation, water conservation, and regulatory policy.
