World Water Day 2017
Visit Austin and you will see our rising skyline, businesses and residences scrambling to secure their spot in the firmament. But some of our lower and less developed altitudes still hold the wilderness that once characterized the Texas capital, places where nature’s might peeks out from under two centuries of development. Looking out over the city, architecture gives way to terrain, terrain gives way to the river.
The Colorado River represents a functional beauty. It and its lakes provide the city with water, energy and scenery. Recently, Frontier has gotten involved with the Colorado River Alliance, which aims to preserve the river as both a breathtaking site and an indispensable resource. Helping to keep the river clean is an extremely rewarding pursuit, and it holds special value for today as World Water Day.
As we continue our involvement in conserving the river, we think ahead to a future generation of Austinites able to utilize the resource with as much joy as we have. Stay tuned for updates on getting involved with us for future Creek Cleanups, or contact the Colorado River Alliance to set up your own. Happy World Water Day!
